Terms and Conditions:
Introduction
These Terms and Conditions apply to all hiking and guided tour services provided by Walk and Fork Ltd (“we,” “our,” or “us”). By booking a tour or hike with us, you (“the client”) agree to the following:
1. Bookings & Group Size
- Our services are designed for small corporate groups and family groups.
- Our services include travel, guided walking and itinerary planning and bookings.
- Food and drinks are not included and must be settled directly with the relevant restaurant and or cafes.
- Bookings must be made in advance and are subject to availability.
- A booking is confirmed only upon receipt of full payment or a deposit, as specified at time of booking.
2. Weather Policy
- All hikes and tours will go ahead regardless of weather conditions, except in the case of:
- Prevalent snow and ice making routes unsafe.
- A Met Office weather warning (Yellow, Amber, or Red) affecting the area of the hike.
- In such cases, we will offer to reschedule the tour or issue a credit for a future date.
3. Safety and Risk Management
- A qualified Lowland Leader will guide all hikes.
- Guides are trained in Outdoor First Aid and carry appropriate safety and communication equipment.
- Dynamic risk assessments are carried out before and during each event.
- Clients must follow the instructions of the guide at all times.
- Participation is at your own risk. Hiking involves inherent risks including injury or adverse weather.
4. Fitness & Suitability
- Clients must ensure they are physically capable of participating in the tour and have the prescribed equipment with them for the tour
- Clients must ensure they are prepared with the prescribed equipment and clothing
- Any relevant medical conditions or mobility issues must be disclosed in advance.
- In addition, any alergies must be disclosed upfront and to the relevant restaurant
5. Insurance
Walk and Fork Ltd is fully insured for:
- Public Liability
- Professional Liability
- Employers’ Liability
- Clients are encouraged to obtain personal travel or activity insurance.
6. Cancellations & Refunds
- Client Cancellations:
- >14 days before event: Full refund (minus admin fee if applicable)
- 7–14 days: 50% refund
- <7 days: No refund
- to be adjusted specific to any restaurant deposits and specific third party terms and conditions
- Company Cancellations:
- If we cancel due to safety or illness, a full refund or reschedule will be offered.
7. Conduct & Responsibilities
- Clients must behave respectfully and responsibly.
- Abuse, intoxication, or dangerous behavior may result in removal without refund.
- Children must be supervised by a responsible adult.
8. Liability Disclaimer
- Walk and Fork Ltd is not responsible for loss, damage, or injury unless due to proven negligence.
- Clients are responsible for personal belongings and equipment.
9. Waiver and Release of Liability
By participating in activities with Walk and Fork Ltd, you agree to:
- Acknowledge and accept inherent risks (e.g., slips, terrain hazards, weather).
- Voluntarily assume all risks.
- Waive and release Walk and Fork Ltd from liability for injury or damage.
- Not bring legal claims unless due to gross negligence.
- Accept terms on behalf of others in your booking.
- You may be required to sign a printed version of this waiver.
10. Data & Privacy
- Personal information is used solely for operational purposes and GDPR compliance.
11. Governing Law
- These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
